It would take a dozen pages to discuss (and defend) how insulting I thought this movie was, but I have better things to do with my time... I will say, however, that it had one of the most beautiful soundtracks I've heard in years (I watched the title sequence at least 10 times) and the cinematography and set/location design was amazing. And OMG - Imagine my surprise to see David Kincaid and his group performing (skip ahead)!

David Kincaid (playing the banjo below) has been another obsession of mine since I saw him perform at Irish Fest last August (2004). I listen to him constantly and I don't know why I didn't pick up he was in this movie. He's half historian and works quite a bit of discussion into his performances. It's a shame he doesn't get to do the singing in this, he has a wonderful voice. Visit his website here.
