I had a memory (from watching this years ago) that this was one of my favorite roles of John's - I'm not sure what drug I was on when I formed this opinion... John has about 5 min. of air time and plays a total sleeze. He's an artist (a bad one) and there is some implied angst - and he's at his most handsome age, so perhaps I created a whole fantasy world out of that. It's more likely I remembered this episode so fondly because it is a favorite and well worth watching - from an Inspector Morse perspective. There are some lovely moments between the two leads and I did not wander from the TV the whole way through even though I have not watched anything else of the Morse stuff and I've seen this one a few times already. Of course, it may simply have been a memory of pictures 45-52 (as labeled) below that I was thinking of - OMG.
